Firstly a photo of D'arcy. This was taken nearly 5 years ago at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, I will try to take another photo in the same spot when we're there for comparison.
Instead of sending out heaps of postcards to family and friends, David, D'arcy and I have decided that a blog would be a great way for those of you who are interested, to keep up with what we're doing and places we've been on our trip to Italy.
We leave on August 30 from Melbourne, and "should" arrive in Palermo on August 31st. I say "should" because, for the first time, we are using a budget European airline to travel from Rome to Palermo, and they have a reputation for cancelling flights at the last minute.
It's all good though, there's always a 12 hour train trip from Rome to Sicily if the plane doesn't work out ;)
To get my into the habit of blogging, I thought it would make sense for me to start now and count down.
It will be dead boring for most people, I'm sure, but I will include details of where we're staying, and what we're doing, also little snippets of information that I glean from my many, many hours of online research.
Only 17 weeks and 3 days to go!!!!!!!!!
